Notes

Endurance run testing to see if I will be able to handle a 50 mile or 12 hours race. No real training purpose, just want to try the run/walk strategy in practice and experience the late stage fatigue. Netflix was essential.

Conclusion: possibly but will be painful.

First 4 hours (20 miles) running at 6mph with break every 15 minutes.

Next 2 hours (30 miles) running at 5.7mph with break every 15 minutes.

Last 2.3 hours (40 miles) running at 5.5 mph with break every 10 minutes.

Final 1.5 hours quite tired. Duration of break was "as long as needed"

Total food intake: Two 32oz Gatorade, 1.5 bottle of 32oz water. 2 bottles ensure, 1 bottle Starbucks mocha cappuccino. 2 bananas. 1 hot dog scallion bun. 2 rice crispy bars. No weight change immediately before and after run.

Aftermath: Sore but not as bad as after my first marathon, but worse than my 2nd or the 30k race. Can walk up/down stairs the next morning. Went to bed 5am - 10am but slept very poorly due to soreness (even the arms), and possibly caffeine still in the system.
