Illinois Marathon. Ran w/ Darrell and we really enjoyed it. Steady 4/1 throughout. Felt strong the whole race. At 24.5, Darrell sent me on, knowing I had a shot at going sub 5 but he did not. So, I ran the last 1.7 continuously and it was awesome. I ran it hard and was at a 9:20-ish pace for it all and felt terrific...and got the sub 5, easily.
Felt terrific at the end. Some great conversations on the field and on the way out of the stadium. Ate warm pasta just minutes later and that sure tasted good.
Marathon #22 in the books.
