Shamrock 5K in downtown Winter Haven. Race went well. Missed first place by nine seconds. Thought I was racing a guy in my age group during the race. We went back and forth on last mile, but my great kick at the end left him in the dust. Found out he was 72 after the race. Although he was experienced, had run 15 marathons he said, so that made me feel a little better I guess. Probably could have caught the almost bald guy with glasses that won my age group if I had known he was in my age group. Anyway, felt pretty good throughout the race. Fell of pace somewhat the last two miles, but still finished under 25 min which was my goal. I think course was short of 5K by .04 mile according to my garmin. Was fun doing a race in a different place like Florida. Great experience.
