I love this race, it's probably my favorite of any of the GA races I've done. It's supposed to be a 15k and looking at the map for today compared to last year, apparently a course marshal either didn't show up at all or fell asleep on the job as there is a loop where you hit mile 8 that is missing from this year's map. I would say probably 90%+ of people did the same thing - as I was back on the road and off the trail heading to the finish, someone who had finished running said "just 100 yards to go, short course!" I knew from last year that once you were back on the road, you don't head back on the trail. I'd barely hit mile 8 and was like WTF?
