N 9. Wind Chill -18. Snow pack under foot almost all the way. Record low temp run for me!
Dress: Under armor "heavy" long socks. Good tights under cotton sweat bottoms. Under armor LS turtle neck "thick" top under cotton sweatshirt. Stocking hat. White Nike windbreaker; hood up and cinched around my head. Cotton gloves. Good layer of vaseline on lips, nose, cheeks. Yaktrax.
Felt comfortable & never really too cold. Sometimes the wind would cut especially through my cotton sweats but the rest of me was warm enough that it was OK. Could have maybe got away with a lighter warmth layer on top (instead of the cotton sweatshirt), but overall I wasn't too hot, so I think it was still OK. With the snowpack and cold I couldn't go very fast and generate a lot of heat anyway. Little bit of exercise (& allergy from the house pets?) induced asthma-like stuff acting up on me in the very cold dry air. Felt at times like I was breathing through a straw.
