KCCC Mile. I actually am very happy with this mile tonight. To run a 4:54 true mile after almost no speed training and only running for less than 3 months since starting up again after my surgically imposed hiatus, I am thrilled with this race. And it was FUN. Troy and I ran almost every step of the thing together. There were a couple of moments when I felt like one of us threatened to drop the other (he me in the 2nd lap, and I him in the 3rd lap and again in the 4th), but pretty much we were within a meter or two of each other the whole way and it was a really fun duel. He got me in the end, but it was a fun, fun race, and it's OK to lose a very close one to a friend. I need to write up a more thorough, blow by blow account of the race for my blog. It was a dandy. Oh, and we completely obliterated the rest of the field, which is always nice! http://joe-26-2.blogspot.com/2012/06/kc-corporate-challenge-2012-wonderful.html
A little warm this evening, but the humidity was low and there was no hard wind blowing like last year, so we didn't have to fight that.
