S16 G24. Shamelessly drafted off of a girl when she passed me just before going into a tough headwind section in the first mile. (she beat me in the end by maybe 10s).
Garmin splits: 5:23, 5:23, 5:44, :35. If these can be trusted, this also makes a "grown up" 2-mile PR at 10:46. I fear the course may have been a wee short since Garmin 110 came out at 3.10 on the nose. But I did run the tangents/corners almost perfectly, if I do say so myself. In third mile caught the young gun who took the substantial early lead, but then he got me back with only maybe 150m to go; dang it. Very happy with the race, but still question after the fact if I showed the right "guts". Did I just survive the 3rd mile when I could have hammered it harder? Well, I'll take it and put it in the bank, and it is way faster than this same race 2 years ago.
