Tonight's workout was a 1600 at threshold (1 minute rest) followed by 4x1000 at interval (2:30 rest). Started out with a big group of me, Sean, Jake, Keefe, Kyler. 1600 felt comfortable and easy. I figured the 1000's would be the challenging part.

Goal 1000's were around 3:10-3:12. First one was right on the money at 3:11, however the first signs of trouble for the group appeared with Keefe dropping out early and Sean/Jake calling it a night upon finishing the first rep. It was then solo time (i guess technically duo?) for Kyler and me for the rest of the workout. I kept waiting for the wheels to fall off as it usually does on the 1000's but tonight I felt comfortable the entire workout. I think the full 2:30 rest helped quite a bit, as well as only doing 4 1000's. I paced the first 3, Kyler took the last (and he did a 5th solo as he is missing Mill Cities this week).

Next goal is being able to string together 5-6 of these 1000's and cut down the rest. Easier said than done, but not a bad confidence booster, even though one could argue this wasn't the most challenging workout given the quantity and rests. Looking at the upcoming schedule, I definitely foresee some humbling workouts and a boatload of pain.
