Company holiday on the Friday before Labor Day, so decided to knock my long run off early before I head down to the Cape with Liz. Temps were pretty mild, but it was still very humid.

Plan was to get in 20 miles, with up to 12 at MP. Didn't have a lot of pop in my legs, so decided to break up the MP miles into 3 sets of 4 miles each beginning at mile 6, with a "recovery" mile in between each set. Struggled as usual to hit MP while going solo. Set one couldn't even break 6:00 on any of the reps, later ones had a little better luck but was not hitting the 5:55s as hoped. Still a little tired from this week, but for some reason I always end up a little slow on these runs.

The 6:30+ miles all felt very comfortable and easy, just need to get my legs used to the MP miles.

Fair disclosure, the overall pace seems quick, but I did stop the watch to stop at intersections when needed, stopped at every water fountain, and made a bathroom break. So as much as I want to look at the workout and say I killed it, those stops did help out.
