Deep Meadow

Notes

Top 7 guys (myself included) ran a new workout today: 2x 2mi repeats. Basically the mile repeat loop at Deep Meadow park, but just twice around.

4:00 rest in between the repeats.

Told all of us to aim for sub 11, but I wasn't confident at any point that I would be sub 11 (on Tuesday, only my last one was even sub 5:30).

Ran with Chris as my partner (we were the bottom of the 7). First mile started a bit easy, and then we worked the second mile. Finished decently hard, but not all out.

2nd repeat Chris went up to Conor + Joe's group, and Sam dropped down from the top group (hamstring problems). I ran with Sam the 1st mile, and then he dropped out, so I finished alone (may have accounted for my last mile being slower than last time, or I was just fatigued). Legs felt pretty worked by the end.

I liked doing 2 mile repeats. Let me get into a rhythm by about 1/4 to 1/2 mile in, but then hold it for the entire next mile, instead of having to find it again each mile. Pace surprised me how easy it was to keep running similar to mile repeats, even without the extra rest. Good workout to do again.
