Mile Repeats at Deep Meadow.

I like how I did today. At first I was a little anxious after going long on Thursday, race Saturday, long Sunday, and medium-long Monday. It was nice to have a bit of a different type of run today, and I think I needed it (started to get a bit into distance running, not true super-easy LSD, but still not 5k race mentality). Pat, Hammond, Cahill and pretty much anyone else that I might normally have gone with were injured/absent. Dropped down a group to Steve Rodolico, Connor Quinn, and Jeff Cader (he essentially dropped out by round 2). Nice to run with Connor, at least he races around my ability level.

Coach told me to run this workout well, but not "annihilate it" as I sometimes had in the past. For the first repeat I tried to go out conservatively (Coach Kenny recommended my group aim for 5:45-5:50), but we still ended up going 5:30's. For the second repeat we just aimed to get about the same (even dropped the time a few seconds without trying). The last one we were told to get it under 5:30, and we accomplished that decently. Didn't annihilate it, but ran well today.

Had a little less rest than usual (aimed for 4 minutes, but often was longer than that).
