Wasn't planning to go this fast but was just feeling it. But when I ran the first mile in 8:14 I started thinking about running four under 8:20 pace. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the watch in mile two and was shocked to see the pace getting faster. From that point, I really just tried to maintain pace until the last mile. Then I pushed a little. First two miles felt easy. Third mile was comfortably hard. The fourth mile didn't hurt, but I was definitely feeling it. I think had I not really pushed the last 200 meters I could have gone another mile. This was a very exciting run for me especially given the 90 degree heat.
