Notes

Wow, can't believe I pulled this off. Splits are all messed up because I was screwing around withe the GPS. It was hard from the start, but I just said screw it, I don't care if I crash and burn. That last mile I thought I was running soo slow, like a 6:40 minute pace. It was about 60 degrees at the start and around 70 at the finish, so I'm calling it 65.

So a couple days later I'm still thinking about this race. A few things occur to me:

Although I ran with the GPS watch, I don't feel like I was slave to it. Rather, when I saw I was slowing down I pushed harder.

I think it was good the mile markers were off, because at some point I said to myself, I don't give a shit if the race is 13.5 miles, I want this under 1:23.

I definitely tend to surge a lot when I race. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but at least during HM's it seems like I run my best times when I hit a couple miles hard then catch my wind and go again.

Although I don't think I could have squeezed anything else out of the race, my legs felt pretty damn good for the cool down run. Definitely some cramping or shooting pains, which is normal for me after a tough race, but I felt like I could have ran another 10 easy if it wasn't for the cramping.
