Wow. I thought I was getting into shape but this workout put me in my place. I hope john knows the work he has cut out for him to get me in shape for Boston. I have not run hill sprints in 8.5 mos!!!!! and today I FELT it!

ran 2.25 miles to the start....within 20 seconds of running out my door my calves were DEAD TIRED. not a good sign since I knew they were about to get the workout like they haven't had in a WHILE!

Anyway...tried to psych myself up and here's how it went:

5 x 2min hill sprints: paces for these were: 6:40, 6:28, 6:40,6:47,6:44

BUT keep in mind the first part of the hill was more gradual and then it gets alot steeper so the last 30 seconds I wanted to DIE. I looked down and I swear my legs were not moving but the garmin said I was going about 7:10-7:15 pace at the end. it was SO hard!!! I texted John and he said it felt harder than it should have b/c of my lingering cold so we'll see how next week feels.

It was one of those workouts where I literally thought to myself " Why the HELL am I doing this?!!" sigh...

first workout of many to come. God Help me.
