CCIW 2016. Well, this hurt. A lot. I felt absolutely terrible from the start. It warmed up a lot during the Varsity race. My legs were just super tight. My hamstrings, quads, and lower back were really tight. I just tried to settle and see if my legs would open up and not doing anything stupid with the heat. I ran with Chase for the first 5K almost before he dropped me going up the small incline on the back part of the course. I felt so god damn terrible, I thought about dropping out so many times my body just felt absolutely terrible with my legs and back, and the heat. I didn't feel like I was hurting at all aerobically but my body just had nothing to move. Eventually I saw I was catching back up to Chase. I caught him with about 800 to go. Coming into the straight I away I told him we were gonna finish together. That last straight felt so damn long. We had a good part 4 and almost caught an Augie kid and came across the line together which was really cool. Overall, I am pretty frustrated with today and this season. I have put a lot of work in and not seen any results in the 8K which makes no sense. I really need to figure this XC thing out mentally. I'm just fucking sick of sucking. I know I have it in me physically and mentally to succeed but I need to work mentally. The last 3 years of XC here have been really disappointing from an individual standpoint and I don't want my last XC season ever next year be the same. But onwards and looking forward to these next couple of time trials to get some momentum for track.

You're overthinking it fam. Cross country isn't about feeling good or bad. It's transversing from point A to B and it doesn't matter how you do it. I think your body is so much more capable then you think it is. You're shitty feeling for a run is probably my normal feeling.

Sorry drunk Casey felt the need to comment for some reason.
