CCIW 800 prelims. Was in the first heat with Suda, Jonah, and Gray from Augustana. Gray was entered as a NT, but I knew he was good since he was 4th right ahead of me Sophomore year. Was in the middle alley and I was able to have a great part 1 and get position in 2nd right behind Suda. Held that until 300 in and then some Wheaton kid made a really hard move. I think then Jonah went by and some Carrol noob got by me just past 400. Had to hand check him. 350 to go I was probably in 5th. Was like oh shit, I gotta move. Made a pretty hard move down the backstretch and was able to get myself into third behind Suda and Jonah. Swung wide on the homestretch and passed Jonah to take second and automatically get into finals. We ran fast enough though so Jonah was easily into finals. When I saw his time, I knew that would hold up. I was pretty pumped. The rest of the team and coaches were too so that was awesome. Nice to PR, but more to come.
