Notes

Don't know my time but I'll add it in. Conditions weren't great with all the rain but I honestly didn't let it get to me. I've ran well in mud before and I was actually kind of excited for it. Part 1 was great. Before the race Sinnott said it was really important today with how narrow it got. I got out really well and settled. First mile was sub 5:20 and second mile was 10:40 or so. I felt so freaking good and smooth. There was a lot of jostling around the lake with a lot guys moving around for position. There was a good pack of our guys that inwas right behind all the way around on the first lake loop. I was really excited going into the woods because I knew I was geeky good and could fight through the mud. But right after the 2 mile my legs and lower back tightened up super bad. My lower back was just really tight and I couldn't move. I wasn't hurting aerobically at all. My third mile was over 6 minutes. Partly because we were sliding so much. But I was moving back so far it really sucked. I fought as hard as I could and I was proud of myself for hanging in there mentally when I could have just gave up. BHR and the bands have made my back really sore and tight but I know it will help in the long run. What happened last XC season will not happen this year; not only am I way more fit, but I am a way better/stronger runner and person mentally and physically. Moving on from this with some good things to take away and some things to work on.
