2017 Indoor CCIW. Not a good race. Was in the outside alley with one Carthage kid at the start. Got out immediately in front of him. It was hard to judge pace in the outside and I didn't want to get out too fast or too slow. But I came through okay but was a little farther back. Since Grant from Carroll and was on the inside, a lot more guys got to see him and judge their pace off him and got better position than I did. I knew he was gonna take it out fast and I knew my split at 200 was fine and that I could move up with a lot of guys ahead of me probably not able to run that fast. I was kind of right. I also apparently could not as well and that 56 felt pretty shitty. I was too far back and wasn't able to really catch anybody besides Wantland who went out really hard and came back. Really just a weird race and a lot of other guys in the conference had good days. Extremely frustrating because I did not race to my potential and was 7th indoors last year and 5 outdoors, and I ran a slower time this year than I did last year. Just going to move on from this and train my fucking ass off because this was honestly pretty embarrassing, I am way more capable of competing, running faster, and placing higher.
