Looks like my splits were pretty even...that's good. Seems like the Garmin is definitely off though. When I passed the first mile split I wanna say the guy with the timer called out like 7:44 or thereabouts. It also had me at .04 over the 5K finish. Wasn't as fun of a race as I was hoping...very overcast, it rained off and on and finally let up before the start. Right as I passed the 3 mile marker it started pouring, so everyone pretty much ran right through the finish line to their cars. The course wasn't too exciting, just a straight out and back route along the beach.
Lots of Marines, recruits running in formation doing cadences, bagpipers...unfortunately because it was raining so bad everyone pretty much just left and there was no chance to hang around to listen to any Marine bands or check out any events they may have had.
