I don't think some of those mile markers were accurate, and many people told me they had 13.25 or more for the distance. Everyone's watch went off about 15 feet before the first mile marker. Went into this with tired Boston legs, so I didn't have a goal time in mind. I also paid for this race, so in the back of my mind, the fact that I paid may have been a reason why I did better. It's easy to give up if it's free.

I ran in a group the entire time, tried to let them all block the wind, but I was still getting nailed by it. After the track, the group started to dwindle, went from a group of 7 or 8 to just 4 of us. We went through mile 10 in like 58:50, and I said out loud, "this is too slow." Then I took off and passed about 11 or so people within the last mile. I ran this race pretty smart, but at the same time, I didn't have a plan. Great performance in my mind, and blew everyone I know with or without fresh legs, out of the water.

No problems really during the race, thought I could throw up between 11-13. The wind was pretty bad, 20-30mph, just like a few years ago. My hip bothered me a little bit, but nothing that I couldn't handle. Wonder what I could've done with fresh legs.
