Long run with the horses in Group A (Jared, Josh, Mike D, John?, Ben, Bill, Aaron and Renee). Every guy probably averages about 30 seconds/mile faster than me, but was assured we'd be going at a pedestrian pace, so I obliged. Wasn't sure how my body would respond with the low mileage week... also haven't done anything longer than 18 in months. Started off easy down the necklace and into the Arboretum. Hit a couple trails and watched the crazies sprint up Bussey Hill before heading out to the Forest Hills Cemetery for another loop. Then, to get in the mileage, we did one last loop through Franklin Park, including parts of the XC course before heading back along the southwest corridor. I felt comfortable the whole way, until we hit XC course in Franklin Park. No water and no gel, so could have been multifactorial. Was a death march through the Southwest corridor. Got some words of encouragement from Ben, but otherwise just trying to finish the run. Haven't felt like this in awhile, but it was probably the pace. Weather held up until the last mile. Treated to an amazing spread of breakfast food at Mike & Suzie's!
