Notes
Wow, I have no idea where this race came from! I thought sub-30 would be a stretch goal. I started out feeling very relaxed and comfortable right behind Josh Harter and with Mike Nier and Al Evans, so I knew something was weird right off the bat. But I felt great so I went with it, not sure if I would pay the price later or not.
Nier and I ran basically the whole race together. Around 6K, I gapped him a little bit, and caught up to James Davenport. Having both of them on my six made me really dig deep to prevent them from catching me. With about 1k left, I could still hear Nier stalking me, so I pushed as hard as I could to keep him from outkicking me. I wasn't able to sprint at the end like I did at the last race, but I was so whipped that I couldn't stand or breathe for a few minutes after finishing. I figure that's the sign of a race well run!
