Great day for a race. Got out aggressively because I wanted to stay with Kirt Komocki. I was actually ahead of Derrick for a while, but he passed me around a mile in and I then I tried to hang with him. He pulled away on the downhill before 3k. Spent the next 2 kilometers catching up to Dan Serriani; I passed him and another GVH runner around 4k. I could hear people cheering for a Bergen elite runner right behind me; I found out later it was James. A little after 5k, I passed a guy in a white jersey and had a good kick to stay ahead of him. Ended up 10 seconds behind Derrick and only 4 behind Kirt.
Was not expecting to run a PR, so this is a great surprise! I felt very strong and quick on every part of this course except for the uphill from 3k to 4k.
