Notes
Last PGXC race at FLCC. Went out pretty comfortably with Brett Long. The course was a little muddy and sloppy in some areas so I was very careful around the turns. Saw two guys bite it down on the loop around the pond which made me even more cautious. Brett and I ran the whole race together; he was just a few steps ahead of me all the way until the big hill around 3.5, where I passed him. Then he caught back up on the second incline up to mile 4 and pushed the whole last mile. We both caught up to Brett Smith who went out too fast and was cramping up then. I did not want to run that fast at that point in the race but made myself stay with him. I was able to charge up the tiny steep hill by the athletic fields and put a step or two on him, then kicked as hard as I could across the final stretch. I couldn't stop coughing and almost ralphed afterward, so that's exciting. I am very proud of this race and the team.
