Wow, this race was awful. Since I ran 22:03 at Akron, I thought I could run under 22 minutes here. However, they changed the course to three laps of the worst loop ever. So the course went from being challenging to downright awful. I don't feel bad about my time, though, because the top guys didn't even break 21 minutes. I was right behind the B team guy who narrowly beat me at Akron the whole way, and Nier passed me in the second mile so I tried to stay with him but was feeling too terrible. Luckily, I did keep the B team kid behind me, so that's nice. It was hard to get into a good racing effort/rhythm because of all the short, steep uphills and downhills. I felt like I was always tiptoeing down a steep hill, or going at a walking pace up a steep hill. The heat and humidity did nothing to help the situation. So, while it was not a fun race at all, I think I still did pretty well. I was 26th at Akron Falls and 21st here.
