Notes
cathexis. this was a joyful, happy, fun fun fun run. I was thrilled to be back on my old running ground, I even liked all the people around: the tourists, the boot cap people, the groups of runners and bikers, everyone. On the way back three things happened: I was running behind two asian guys at nearly the same pace but then I had to pass them; we were all passed by a shirtless guy with a beautiful body and fantastic skin (thank you gods of the good-looking), and then in front of the kennedy center I saw two old ladies running together. They were grey haired and wrinkly and one was running with a limpy gait but they were out there reminding us all that this IS a democratic sport and something our bodies like to do and are good at.
I couldn't stop smiling, reminding me of when Danny said he had never seen a runner look happy and smiley while running. It was all simply wonderful and filled me up with happiness. I think I won't mind late runs on Sundays. I love owning the city in the morning but it genuinely felt heureux with all the folks.
it was so good I wasn't sure what to call this run: spectacurama or crazy good. I am going with spectacurama because this is what it is supposed to be like.
