6x2mile w/1:30 recovery

Really good workout down at Shelby Bottoms. Last year on this workout I was averaging 5:15 pace, starting at 5:20 on the first, and cutting down to 5:08 at the end. This year everything was over 10 seconds/mile faster. Felt really in control on all of them, and while I was definitely working on the last interval, I felt really strong. HR 10 seconds after the intervals were started at 165 and finished at 180 or just over. HR 1:10 after the intervals started about 115 for the first one, but never got over 130, so it came down really well.

In addition to the good training I've been getting in, I think my pull-ups and push-ups are really paying off as I feel I have much more drive and strength from the upper body than I used to. Would guess I'm about 160-161 right now, which is a little more than I was for my half in Philly last year (157?), but I think I have a little higher muscle to fat ratio right now. For one of the few times in my life, I'm capable of 10 pull-ups in a row as well as 30 push-ups.

Anyway, a really encouraging workout. Makes me think that running sub-65 is definitely a possibility this fall if I get in the right race.
