Unsure how today would go, but I decided that if I'm still going to try to do the Music City Distance Carnival, I needed to get on the track. If the shin exploded or if I felt awful, I was thinking about shutting things down.
Fortunately, things went pretty well. Plan was 800@2:30 and 3x1600 going from 5:00 to 4:40. Hit the paces exactly, and while it wasn't quite as easy as I would have liked, I definitely was struggling. In the next week, I'm going to try to get in a good tempo and one more light interval workout. Mostly, I just need to convince myself that I'm still in good shape and that I really haven't lost too much after taking it easy for the shin.
Shin felt good throughout and the only problem I had was some irritation on my right big to from running in the Matumbos for the second time.
