Quite happy with the race. Went in having won it last year, but this year on the starting line I realized that the field was going to be more competitive. Among the solid runners in attendance were Carrigan, Snellen (luckily for me not in his best shape), Chastain (also luckily not in his best shape), and a Kenyan teammate of Snellen's from Belmont, as well as some other fit looking guys.
When the race went off, I was surprised to find myself at the front of the pack. Led the race with Snellen's teammate and ended up pulling away right around the mile mark heading up the hill. Felt really strong throughout the race. Feel like I have a great base to build from over this fall.
I think, when all was said and done, that today was actually a PR on on the roads.
