Very relaxed (recovery day). Lots of snorkel + PB work to try and fix left arm catch. It takes noticeably longer to catch water than the right arm does.
3 theories.
1. not enough rotation to the left side. This doesn't hold up as I still have the issue when I just rotate and do UNCO.
2. letting the elbow flare out before I finish the catch... keep the the arm/shoulder to the head/chin longer
3. Timing on left is a little off from the right. Right waits for left arm entry (i.e. front quadrant), left is going early.
Ended with some IM relaxed pace stuff. including 4x25 fly at :32 / 25 which is crazy slow but also ... sustainable and I'm able to focus on getting the hips up for a proper kick.
p.s. I don't believe the HR data as all this felt super easy except maybe the last 100 free w/o snorkel &PB which was still steady at worst.
