Interval
5K-specific workouts should be run once a week. This is a typical progression of sessions. All reps are followed by three minutes of jogging unless otherwise indicated:
* 5-10 x 1 minute (2-minute recovery)
* 5 x 2 minutes
* 5 x 3 minutes
* 4 x 4 minutes
* 5 x 4 minutes
* 4 x 5 minutes
* 5 x 5 minutes
