Notes

At long last, my first 5K goes into the record books, and it's simply a blast! Between the suddenly foggy, cool, comfortable weather, the fantastic support from (and familiar faces in) the local Police and Fire Departments, and the great comraderie found with runners both new and known to me, this is an exceptional event and I'm so thankful to have run it - Solo, alas, although M is on hand to help out at the Finish and cheer. Even though at no point am I able to catch or overtake Paul Gray (my one competitive "goal" in this) the run is still a great one for me, and now at least I have a better awareness of what to expect and prepare for next year, with hopes that that rematch between he and I will end differently. = ) I do rally to pass three others, though, in the last half-mile, and finish strong and relatively-well composed... And though I am pleased with pretty much everything about this event, it is perhaps most so that both of my parents are in attendance to watch, just across from the Start/Finish, and the pride beaming off them at race's end definitely strikes me a lot harder than I thought it might - Just a great day...!
