Bonefrog Golden Trident

I don’t know where to even begin. This race meant the absolute world to me. I came in really banged up. I’m dealing with triceps tendinitis. My foot hasn’t recovered from my ultra marathon. But this was my last race of the year. And I registered for the Elite so I was doing it one way or another. The race was 18 miles and 100 obstacles. I started the race with some nerves but also excitement. At the end of lap 1 I was in second place. By lap 2 I was in a battle for second place. And by lap 3 I couldn’t keep up with him. He was extremely efficient on the obstacles. I fought so hard to keep my elite wrist band. I was almost in tears at the end of lap 3. My hands were shredded I was in pain everywhere. But I knew I only one more lap to go. I finished the race with 100% obstacle completion. I kept my elite band and finished in 3rd place. It’s my first ever OCR Elite Podium. My body has never been this beat up and sore. But I wouldn’t change it for the world it was more than worth it.

I couldn’t be more grateful for all the volunteers and support I had. Danielle ran about a mile of it with me. The company was great. The crowd support on the tougher obstacles was great. I love competing. It’s so much fun. Probably nothing I love more than competing and helping others at races. The community is greatest in the world.

I hope that through all my races this year I’ve had the opportunity to make a difference in even just one persons life. I know I can’t even count on one hand the people I’ve met at races that have made a huge difference on and off the course. So I want to thank all of you who helped and taught me along the way this year. I’ve fallen in love with OCR. I love being able to go out and meet new people all the time. Always remember to challenge yourself. Never give up. Keep fighting and grinding for what you want. Never let anyone tell you what you can or can’t do. Go after what you want and fight for every inch.
