River Run 5k
I had an absolute blast out there today. It was my client Damian’s 3rd different 5k this year and he hit a PR. Crushed his goal again. He just keeps improving and getting faster. I love to see hard work pay off. He was absolutely exhausted at the end, he gave everything he had. We both finished 1st place in our age groups. I ran my best 5k time in about 6 years. I finally feel like I’m getting faster. I also met some amazing people from “strong as oak”. Thanks Michelle for the free registration. I had an amazing time. Such an amazing experience as always.
Toward the end of the race I was trailing behind this guy. I thought he might be in my age group so I was trying to stay as close as possible. He ended up stopping for like 5 seconds. I ended up catching him and a few seconds later he passed me again. But once again he had to stop again. I once again passed him. And I didn’t look back after that. The last 1/4 mile or so was pretty rough. I had a few people really close and I was dying. But the last 100 meters or so was all downhill. That was a nice finish.
