About me:
I have recently graduated from East Peoria Community High School and I attend Benedictine University. I have qualified for State 3 times in Cross Country (2010) and Track (20008-4x800m, 2009-1600m, 10th place). I am majoring in Pre-Med and plan on becoming a Physician at the hospital of my choice.
Why do I run:
I run to better myself and give myself an edge to the competition. Not many people can say the run and that they run well, I would like to think that no matter what others say. I also run to clear my mind and think about the everyday struggles everyone goes through. I run to do something that I love to do.
Why I started running:
During my 7th grade year I qualified for the IESA State track meet in the 1600m running a time of 4:59.9, I did not get to run in the meet for my coach never informed me. My 8th grade year I took a year off of running and focused on my new talent of, wrestling. It was the summer going into high school that a friend gave the XC Coach of the high school team my number. He called me up and asked to come to a practice to see how I'd like it. The first practice was 3x1mile, around the last loop of the XC course, all of which were ran in 5:30 or less. My first 1.5 years the team had no direction until former Olympian, Tim Broe, took the reigns as Head Coach and shaped me into the runner that I am today. It is him that I thank for having the chance to be under his guidance his short lived 3.5 years as coach. He has taught me so much in the time he was with men and passed on a lot of knowledge and experience to me.
