More on this later. Off to work.

Wow, barely had time to pull this one off. Worked late in the lab then had to work the group run from the store in the evening. Thus a progressive longer tempo on the way home. Really wanted to ease into this one, since I appear to have little self discipline and usually screw over my workouts (at least the tempos). Goal was to start around 6 min and work down to 5:30 over 7 miles, nothing exact, but approximate pace. A bit slow, but a good slow, on the first mile. Hung out around the 6min pace apparently for a while before I started cutting it down. The last two miles felt amazing. I had to work for them, but it was another one of those "I feel like a machine" run.

As I was cooling down I thought a bit about what I want to do this fall. I think my focus won't be on "racing" but on "training" instead. I'll still hop in a few races, but would really like to build volume and strength into the winter. Races I know I'll enter are the TC10, usatfmn cross, and hopefully club xc. That being said, I'll probably stick to "cross" style training for the next couple months. The big focus I think will be giving grandmas another shot. I've had a lot of luck, and figured a lot of things out, over the last year. Most volume I've ever consistently done injury free. I'd like to take that into the winter and notch it up a tad and start prepping for another marathon cycle.
