Notes

Given the circumstances, I'm not too surprised at the results. 4 weeks of no workouts, and first week back off of a two week break, can't expect too much. It sucks to lose to people though. About 97 heat index at the start of the race, which featured an expertly placed hot air ballon throttle next to the start line. Every time they fired that thing off, it felt like you were in an oven. Good job race organizers, you sure know how to plan accordingly with the weather. Anyway, started the first mile in a chase pack with keiser, Jack and Cory in the lead. Mile in just under 5min. It was then I felt the heat set in. Pushed through two miles while our pack strung out and I felt like I was well past the red line. Last mile was tough mentally. First over 16min 5k I've done in years. Felt weird after but had plenty of great people to chat with after. Nate, Mark, Cory, and so on. Oh, and apparently Krause is a recruit for USAMN.

I heard they were keeping their crew in Madison together?
