Goal was 5x1k. This week hasn't been the most conducive for workouts. 4 days in a row with a heat index over 100. But I guess it put some hair on my chest. And another thing, I learned not to plan on having my end of the week set in stone. I assumed I had more time than I did and took monday off when I probably should have saved it for later this week. Anyway, back on track.

Up to the Greenway for some K's. Solid warm up. A little tenderness on my medial tendon running down the back of my right knee. Made sure to do my drills and warm up routine without cutting corners. That seemed to help tremendously. Got rolling without a hitch. I was planning on doing 5 (maybe 6 if I felt phenomenal) at 3:10-3:07 pace with 3min recovery. Nothing fancy since I'm still early in the "fall" season and it was almost 90 outside. (That being said, today was a huge confidence boost for me thinking that I couldn't run in the heat and humidity). First one around 3:11ish. I was just going off my Garmin at .62 miles. Second a just tad slower. Third was a bit quick but felt effortless. The last two were a little tough. The fourth back up to 3:10ish. Felt I was starting to have to work for these ones. Nothing hard, but the first three felt like I was floating. And the last was a little bit harder, especially the last 250 or so. Came through around 3:08. I probably could have done a 6th, but I would have had to really dig deep for it. Not something I was really wanting to do in the heat.

Good confidence booster today. Looking forward to the break from the heat. High of 77 on sunday.
