Planned on doing a longer down tempo today. 35-40 min at 5:50-6 pace. Had to cut it short. MMCD had their employee appreciation day, which meant many pizza slices, cupcakes, and cookies, as well as a few rounds of bowling and laser tag. Pretty sweet, but that pizza made its self known as soon as I tried to pick up pace on the run. It was mid 80s which didn't make it any easier. After 2 miles I was pushing the red line. Thought I'd go through three and take a mile easy to regain my bearings. Felt okay after the easy rest, but again as soon as I picked it up, things just weren't clicking. Did one more mile and called it quits, which is fine, this week will be slightly lower intensity while trying to adjust to volume. Leaves my friday open for a different workout. I'll think about that the next day or two. Drills, stretching and lifting after.
