Notes

First run in Fresno, Calif., and I better get used to it since I'll be here until (hopefully) Sunday with the Aztec softball team. Each day is supposed to be between 98-101 degrees so I'm going to to my best to run in the morning or late at night. Today started at 77 and got down to 73 by the end of the run. It still felt much hotter.

Anyway, I mapped out a 3.93-mile loop and ended up running it twice. Well apparently it was 3.935 since it was 7.87 total. A lot of different doubts came into play but I managed. I started out and thought that I would just run it twice. Then about 15 minutes in I thought about just adding on some more minutes after the loop. Then, about 3.8 miles in, I thought about just stopping because my legs were tired from yesterday. Then I figured I might as well run a bit more to make at least my magical number of 4.33. Then I thought of just turning on the canal and adding a couple more miles. Then I thought I might as well just keep going on the loop again and if I have to I could just turn around. From there on I stuck with my plan of running it twice. I am very happy about making it despite my legs feeling pretty beat up. There was also a little tightness on the outside of my right knee.

I ended up running it twice, the first loop in 28:24.39 (7:13.1 pace) and the second in 28:14.10 (7:10.5 pace). Decent run but it may be longest for the rest of the week.

Felt good at times but was running on tired legs from yesterday's hilly run. I managed despite running in some pretty bad parts. I must have had four dogs bark at me and scare me half to death or run up to me and stop right before the fence, then there was the passengers in cars who would just randomly yell at me (you're cool) and finally the running with no shoulders (at times) in the dark.

32 days and counting...
