Got home around 9:15 p.m. after leaving at 8 a.m. and really didn’t want to run. Even with the start of the month and me saying I’m going to have a good May, it was extremely hard. My legs, specifically the quads, were sore and heavy, plus I was tired and starting to get hungry (after a late lunch).
I talked myself into doing something, so I walked down to our little gym and grinded out two miles on the dreadmill at 1 percent grade. Ran them both an 8:00-minute pace without stopping (wow, great accomplishment). It was so damn hot in there, despite the little fan’s best efforts. My legs felt OK and my breathing was better. Still bad, but better.
Plan on getting outside in the morning tomorrow before I head to Fullerton with the softball team in the afternoon.
