Notes

Ran the 5K race in 17:05, good enough for fifth of 268 and second in the open age division. I felt comfortable and in control the whole race. I still had a lot left. I fell in the beginning and Andy Dana tried to help me. I'll tell you, I'll make Dana and Jon French know who I am by the end of the summer. I was at 2:39 at the 1/2 mile mark, 5:29 at the mile and 16:38 at the three-mile mark. I kicked by Matt Russell in the last 90 meters, but he said, "Go, kick it in!" He was coming off a 9:48 steeple at states three days ago. The course was very wet, muddy and slow, kind of like Hamilton is every year (without the hills). Overall I'm happy. I wanted to run 17:30. My best on the course before was 17:37 (last summer). Also, throw in a slow, wet, muddy course and how I was feeling, who knows what I'll run when I am fresh? Dana won in 16:06.
