Didn't get out the door until 12:12 a.m. (but will mark it as 11:55 p.m.) after taking fourth of 159 in a $5.50 PLO tourney for $79.50. Was going to do 8.5 but then I, you know, started running. It was raining and extremely windy with fallen palm trees and branches everywhere. Here is the forecast for the rest of the night: Occasional showers. Low around 50. Windy, with a south wind between 25 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
So I cut it off early and ended up slogging through the 6.1-mile Morena Loop in a one-second PR of 43:01.07 (7:03 pace). Splits were 6:58.0, 7:15.5, 7:01.7, 7:02.7, 7:02.1 and 7:41.2 last 1.1 miles (6:59 pace). Will try and do 8.5 tomorrow depending on the weather.
