First run with custom orthotics. I took it slow but my shins were bothering me. I ended up cutting it short to only two laps. Even 20 minutes after stopping I'm still feeling it in both shins. As I understand it, it's common to have discomfort with adjusting to new orthotics. I think thats in the feet though, not the shins. I plan to contact Dr. SIder on this.
