plan was to run like I would the first 7 miles of the marathon except run each mile 15-20 seconds faster. My goal for the marathon is to run the first mile close to 9:00. Then the next 3 miles at 7:50-8:00 pace and the next mile at 8:15-8:30. Then repeat these 4 miles over and over again.
So the plan for today was miles 2-4 and 6-7to be around the 7:30 pace with mile 5 being close to 8:00. I was definitely faster than this and felt fairly good considering the pace. I know I couldn't have run a bunch more miles at sub 7:30 but with my last mile being 7:05, I'm sure I could have run a few more really close to the 7:30 pace. Huge confidence booster with 10 days till marathon.
