Was in second place throughout race, made wrong turn into stadium finish when I lost sight of the leader (30-40 seconds in front of me). No one was directing runners and they left the first gate open so I went straight for the finish line instead of running around the track. After I crossed I was giving my name to the photographer, standing there for close to a minute before someone came up and told me. I slow jogged around the first corner of the track, pissed, then then started running fast at the far side straightaway when I saw Kim coming up. I ran about 90-95% to try to beat her, but then some other guy I didn't even know was there passed me at the last second. Never saw him. And he was in my age group. So I got 3rd OA, 2nd AG, and my time was way off. They closed the gate for the first turn and added people to direct traffic, but no "sorry" or anything from the RD. C was wicked pissed, oh well. First place guy and I talked - he ran for U of A. Super nice kid, asked which school I ran for which made my day. OA awards were cool dinner plate looking trophies.
