after mile warmup ran this timed mile on the illinois track. only person there. splits of approximately 86, 89, 89, 85. first 200 was 41, so i had to slow it down on the second half of the first lap. breathing was labored and lactic acid on last couple laps was rough, but pleasantly surprised with the time. solid effort. wind breezy and into the face on the backstretch. during lunch break at work, so body naturally a bit tired. still, not bad. maybe try doing this a few times during the summer and note progress.
