met steve up taft, did the standard owl canyon loop. didn't feel bad starting out, but coming south into a sometimes strong headwind was a grind. steve had ridden a fair amount already, so we were both running on empty. quick ride with little in the stomach, very dry air... still, it's mileage and i'm getting stronger.
