Notes

trail run north of Moab, UT with erlend. james and chris were riding, but we kept pace with them for the first few miles as it was mostly climbing. stayed on a lot of the 4x4 jeep trails, doing the baby steps south and EKG trails towards the end. parked a bit away from the trailhead parking lot, so extra at the beginning and end. wanted to see some of the dinosaur tracks that are supposedly visible, but missed them. this was the longest run I've done since Chicago in 2011, and the longest trail run I've maybe ever done. body responded pretty well in spite of fatigue from mountain biking the day before and the heat, and not having running shorts. glad to have the supportive and rugged trail shoes, as running on bare rock is tough on the feet. fun, unique experience. downed two gels and a bottle of gatorade as we went. pace and distance are total estimates.
