Notes

This was a great, feel good run. Oh, if they could all be like this! The wx forecast sent me out today after work. There was some manner of precip (icy snowdrops??), but the temps were mild in the 30s and there wasn't a wind. Tomorrow it's supposed to be bitter cold and windy and I don't want that. Down Campusview & to the trail. The trail was snow covered and I wondered how it would feel after the trouble I had on the Hartsburg Trail yesterday, but this snow here, on this stretch, was much more powdery and a lot easier to run on. It wasn't as easy as if it had been clear, but it really was no big deal at all. It was still light enough while I was on the trail so it was really pretty with the icy snowdrops coming down. I decided to stay on the roads tonight because I knew it would be completely dark by the time I got turned around and the dark, dark of the trail alone wasn't calling to me tonight, even though I guess it would have been pretty. I saw no other runners, or walkers out. The roundabout is done so running by that isn't as bad as it was before. I wore my reflective vest and light as well. The air felt especially fresh and clean tonight, and I really didn't put much effort into this run at all. I was comfortable and it was just nice -- real nice. I felt free. My hip is much better. I can still feel it, but it's no longer an issue while running at any rate. Still hurts at night some. The only thing that bothered me, and I remembered this from Brew to Brew, was those little icy things in the air hurt my eyes when I was running into them. It's like little needles in the eye and I end up practically running with my eyes closed. That was minor though compared to the overall great feeling of this run. After the roundabout, I kept going past Huntridge and headed down Campusview again. I ran around the block at the bottom of the hill & then ran up Campusview so I could have that hill at the end of the run. It was easy & great - but I wasn't pushing anything either. Really glad I went out.
